Kentucky Looks to Adopt RUUPA

With presently pending HB 394, Kentucky aims to be one of the latest states to adopt the Revised Uniform Unclaimed Property Act, or significant portions thereof. This would be a big step and complete statutory overhaul for Kentucky – which is still one of six states that has never adopted a previous uniform act. If this bill passes, we expect many of the RUUPA provisions to be enacted, including but not limited to: a statute of limitations, specific due diligence language, and electronic contact provisions.
